Instructions for Thunderbird

Thunderbird Step 1
In Thunderbird, make sure you've clicked on "Local Folders" and then select Tools > Account Settings.

Thunderbird Step 2
Select "Email account" and click Next.

Thunderbird Step 3
Enter your name and e-mail address.

Thunderbird Step 4
Select "POP" as the type of incoming server you are using. Your incoming server is mail.yourdomainname.com (ex: mail.sundogmedia.com). Click Next.

Make sure you've checked the "My Server Requires Authentication" Box in the lower left corner.
Click on the "Settings..." button to the right of the checkbox.

Thunderbird Step 5
Enter your e-mail address for the "Incoming User Name," and "Outgoing User Name." Click Next.

Thunderbird Step 6
Enter a name for your e-mail account and click Next.

Thunderbird Step 7
Verify your account information and click Finish.
NOTE: Your own SMTP info should automatically appear, not "smtp.comcast.net" as you see in this example.

Thunderbird Step 8
In the Account Settings window, select "Server Settings" and make sure the following checkboxes are checked. Click Ok.

Send yourself an email to test your new settings.
